A few weeks ago, my best friend and I decided to take a little getaway trip and drove down to Carmel, CA for the weekend. We went to the beach, toured the city, ate at some fancy European restaurants, and just had a nice and relaxing time catching up on life. If you live in the Bay Area and you are looking to do some local travel, I would definitely recommend Carmel. If I was a travel blogger, I would’ve paid attention to every little detail of that city and gave you all the tips and tricks to make the most out of a weekend getaway, BUT that is just not my specialty so let’s get into the actual purpose of this post.
Traveling with my own personal photographer, it was only right that I seize the opportunity and have myself a mini photoshoot. So, for today’s post I am bringing y’all 4 different beach/pool cover up ideas for when you don’t want to be showing off all that your mama gave you and be a little conservative.
Oversized button-down shirt: This is definitely my go-to beach cover up. If not a button-down shirt, a cute loose oversized t-shirt is always what I reach for when looking for coverups. It is simple, comfortable, and gets the job done so effortlessly.

Oversized thin knitted sweater: This is also another one of my favorites. Although the shorts are not pictured here, I usually style my knitted sweaters with a bikini top and some short shorts keeping it a bit classy but sexy at the same time.

Large Scarf: Who said scarves are made just to be thrown around the neck? If there is any versatile accessory you can keep in your closet, it’s definitely a collection of some cute scarfs. From a scarf, to a head wrap, to a beach coverup…the options are endless.

Kimono: Last but not least, Kimonos. Although I don’t think they were made for the purpose of cover up, kimonos are also another great option for a beach cover up as pictured below.
